Curly is a unique literary project born from Stephan Boschat‘s childhood memory of an imaginary friend. This story explores the concept of soulmates and invisible connections between humans, asking: What if our childhood imaginary friends were real and played crucial roles in our adult lives? The narrative follows Hector and Dana, two adults reconnected by their not-so-imaginary friends across time and space.
The project delves deep into the intersection of childhood memories, dreams, and reality. It goes beyond a simple love story, venturing into a vast, spiritual universe that examines the invisible bonds between beings, the coincidences shaping our lives, and how childhood experiences influence our futures. Curly blends romance, fantasy, and poetry, inviting readers to reflect on the power of unexpected human connections.
A poetic romance between dream and reality.
Awakened with a start by recurring nightmares, Hector struggles to maintain control over his life. Since a recent event, the young man is lost, no longer knowing what to do with his existence. Resurfacing from the past, a voice addresses him after all these years, that of his imaginary friend: Curly.
When he was just a child, Hector was the only one who could see Curly, attracting disdain from many people around him, children and adults alike. Until the day he met Hana, a young girl who also had an imaginary friend: Pale. Very quickly, the two children grew closer, bonded by common points, a sweet love forming between them.
But Destiny is a capricious master and unfortunately, Hector and Hana lost touch, years passing without either managing to get news of the other. However, the return of Curly in Pierre’s life is accompanied by good news: he has stayed in contact with Pale. What if it were possible, despite the years gone by, to allow two soulmates to find each other again?
